REFUNDS & RETURNS 

GENERAL RETURNS
As all fabrics are cut to order, we’re unable to accept returns due to change of mind, incorrect measurements, or if the fabric isn’t what you expected. To help you make the right decision, we strongly recommend requesting a sample before placing your order.

We only accept returns if, in our sole opinion, the item does not meet the standard of quality we believe you should reasonably expect.

If a return is approved, we will offer either a replacement or refund, and the refund will be processed using the same payment method used at checkout.

Please note: Once fabric has been cut, altered, or used in any way, it is not eligible for return or refund — even if an issue is discovered later.

Return requests must be submitted within 14 days of receiving your order.

DAMAGED OR FAULTY GOODS 

Please check your fabric carefully as soon as it arrives. If you believe it is damaged or faulty, you must notify us within 24 hours by emailing admin@fabricretailerbysm.com and including clear photos.

If we find that the goods are not faulty, they will be returned to you, and a 30% restocking fee plus shipping charges will apply.

If damage or fault is confirmed, we will replace the item or offer a full refund using the original payment method.

We are unable to take responsibility for fabric that is found to be faulty after it has been cut or altered in any way.

If your fabric is being inspected, cut, or installed by a third party (e.g. upholsterer or curtain maker), please ask them to check it thoroughly before beginning any work.

EXCHANGES & RESTOCKING FEES

If an exchange is approved (for reasons other than a fault), return shipping and any associated costs will be the buyer’s responsibility and subject to a 30% restocking fee.

PRODUCT AVAILABILITY 

While we do our best to keep product information up to date, some fabrics may become unavailable or discontinued without notice. If this happens after you’ve placed an order, we will let you know as soon as possible and offer you the choice of a full refund or assistance in choosing an alternative.

You will only be charged for items that are available and supplied.

INTERNATIONAL ORDERS 

At this time, Fabric Retailer by Sophie Marie ships within Australia only. International shipping is not available.

ORDER ACCURACY 

Once your order has been paid for, it is sent directly to the supplier for processing. As fabric is cut specifically to your order, changes or cancellations cannot be made after payment has been received.

Please review all product details and quantities carefully before checking out. If you need assistance, I’m always here to help before you place your order.

CARE & INSPECTION 

It is your responsibility (or that of your workroom or installer) to inspect the fabric before it is cut or used. Any issues must be reported immediately.

We cannot accept returns or offer compensation once fabric has been cut, altered, or used.

LIABILITY 

We are not responsible for any losses, costs, or damages related to delays, ordering errors, colour variations, incorrect measurements, or misuse of fabric after delivery. Once fabric leaves the supplier, responsibility for safe use and application lies with the buyer.
